My 2 year old and I were booked in for a flight to Gold Coast from Sydney at 6.10am. We made our way from western suburbs about 3am, as we had to be there 2 hours before. As we were driving, my daughter, out of nowhere, starts vomitting in the car, I had to stop and change her clothes wipe the seat down etc. Then we commenced driving again, bout 10 mins into the drive she begins vomitting again for the second time, so in my head I'm like there is noway we are flying today, this kid will definitely be vomitting on the flight. I stopped again changed her for the second time etc. I decided not to continue towards the airport, so I rang up jetstar helpline or some support line, and advised them of my situation, well lets just say they were of no help and did not have a care in the world. The dumb jetstar consultant, who most probably doesn't have any kids, advised me to commence to the jetstar check in, so the check in ladies can determine, what should happen. I told him that I cannot and that my kid is vomitting, and has gastro, unfortunately he said I'm so sorry that this is happening to your child but you have to continue to the check in so the check in ladies can determine the outcome. There was no way I was doing that with a screaming kid, and I didn't want to risk my kid constantly vomitting on the way there. I got home called them up again to try and get a refund or change the name, the lady who sounded like she hated her job, stated she was unable to provide a refund for both our departure and return flights, which cost us over $400 and mind you that was on sale. She also said I was only able to change the date for the return flight which would cost me another $85. I informed her I will never fly with jetstar ever again, and refused to provide there dodgy business with any more money and hung up on her, because she was so bitchy! No compassion at all for parents and kids. Makes me so angry!!! Ripping off families and taking there money all for nothing!!!
