Thanks to Jetstar, for ruining the beginning of my holiday to the US. My original flight booked for 4:30pm was delayed till 6:25pm which would have been cutting it close for my 9:20pm flight with Hawaiian to Honolulu from SYD. So staff kindly organised for me to board a flight departing for MEL at 5:40pm from the international airport. However, upon boarding this flight and departing the terminal we were then delayed (paperwork, tech fault, luggage missing from manifest, etc) for almost 2 hours...stuck on the tarmac! Flight attendants that spoke broken English and conveyed no sympathy for the wait. The whole lot of them, pilots included should be ashamed. At this stage I had accepted the fact that I was going to miss my flight to Hawaii. We eventually landed in SYD at 8:55pm, my flight was closed. Luckily HAwaiian have offered to fly me the next day with no extra charges as insurance will not cover airline (jetstar) responsible delays. I was also shocked to find that the air hostesses had the audacity to still charge for tea & coffee on offer during the (eventual) flight. Lastly, It has come to my attention that my original 4:30pm flight was an actual late time change disguised as a delay! I should have arrived into SYD at approx 5:30pm but thanks to Jetstar didn't make it till approx 9pm. It's probably the most frequent route MEL-SYD with 2 or 3 flights every hour! JETSTAR NEVER AGAIN!
