We booked two seat to Newcastle several months ago, booked on line and paid for. We are off to my wife's Grandmothers 90th birthday.
Jetstar in their wisdom several weeks ago changed out flights.
Due to this flight change it is no longer convenient for me to fly. My wife has elected to go anyway, even though her visit will be greatly reduced. I understand I cant get a refund for my seat, so I called the " no help at all" support line" and inquired about allowing my daughter to take my seat. I even said I was willing to pay for the privilege of this change.
Jetstar response was that change will cost you $130.00.
The cost being $40 per flight change fee, plus an additional $50.00 for the new flight charges.
This is nothing more than gouging, rip off, theft, robbery, need I go on.
I spend well over 40mins on the phone with the Filipino call centre girl who was very well versed in talking over me, and then putting me on hold.
Its not like I am selling my seat to a stranger on E-bay. It is a direct family member.
My request is to be able to transfer my seat to my daughter for a reasonable cost, not a complete and utter ripoff.
Lastly Jetstar stop quoting your policy at me, your policy is crap. Change it to accommodate reasonable and realistic customer expectation.
