Jetstar called 5 hours before departure time to cancel my flight from Sydney to Honolulu on 2 Aug.
They moved the flight to the next day (3 Aug) and their call centre staff advised that the new flight would depart on 3 Aug in the morning and would arrive on the same day (3 Aug). Their call centre even advised that I should take connecting flight to Canada on 4 Aug as arrival date/time (3 Aug 1015pm) would not meet WestJet flight departure time at 10pm on 3 Aug.
I made two phone calls again to check and confirm the arrival date. The call centre staff insisted that arrival date was 3 Aug although I asked if it should be 2 Aug. So I changed the connecting flight to depart on 4 Aug and booked hotel and airport shuttle for 3 Aug night.
Imagine my shock when the pilot announced we arrived on 2 Aug!!! Not only I had to waste another day in Honolulu but also I was stranded at Honolulu airport past midnight. I called a few hotels from the airport and none picked up the call (probably it was past midnight) and had to resort to a shared dorm hostel stay in Honolulu! All of these hassles and problems were because of Jetstar giving WRONG arrival date.
Jetstar did not compensate the accommodation and extra expenses and they also created me more problems with their useless call centre.
There must be a very big systematic problem if three different staff gave the same WRONG arrival date!
I will never fly Jetstar again and I will spread the news to my network and the media. Don't fly Jetstar!
