I bought Jetstar’s return tickets (Jakarta-Hong Kong via Singapore) for my family holidays (5 people) May 24 – 29, 2014. After long period of times, I got an email which told that our departure flight from Singapore to Hong Kong was changed from 6:30 into 10:15, which mean the transit duration became longer and I would be touch down Hong Kong at noon (2:30pm). I already disappointed with this notification since I already arranged my schedule and bought all the tickets during that long period of times since I booked the flights. Within this delay departure, I sacrificed some destinations of my holiday (Madam Tussauds+Sky Terrace+Peak Tram) and of course I can not get refund for these tickets.
I tried to understand that those problems were unavoidable and at some time I felt relieved that Jetstar was being professional by offering some options regarding those problems. Jetstar also gave another options for the returning flights like mention below:
1. Flight of Hong Kong – Singapore (11:05 – 14:55) then Singapore – Jakarta (20:05 – 20:55).
2. Flight of Hong Kong – Singapore (14:05 – 17:55) then Singapore – Jakarta (20:05 – 20:55).
3. Flight of Hong Kong – Singapore (14:05 – 17:55) then Singapore – Jakarta in the next morning.
4. Cancel all the flights include the departure flight -> I already booked and paid the hotel and tickets, so I could not just cancel it all!
Finally, I chose the 1st option because I want to join the Changi Free Tour and prepare the worst condition (lateness, etc.). Also, I already prepared all include the web-checking and already got the seat numbers. I arrived at Hong Kong Airport Terminal 1 at 10:00 AM. I directly go to the information center and asked what to do after the web check-in for Jetstar Valu Air. They said just go to the departure gate on Terminal 2. After I go to the departure gate in Terminal 2, we could not in because we did not have tickets with barcode. They said that we must hurry up check-in at terminal 1 again, there was still time to do that. We ran to Terminal 1 and found that the check-in counter already closed. They suggested me to go to the Terminal 2 again and asked the information there since the departure terminal was in Terminal 2. I ran and back to the Terminal 2 again and asked for the Jetstar representative, they said that I must go to the Terminal 1 (JASL) for the Jetstar representative.I ran again to the Terminal 1 and found that I must go to the “P” Information Counter at Terminal 2 again because there is no Jet Star Representative in there. It was so fvcking exhausting to run without any sky train or shuttle bus like in the Changi Airport!!! Our leg became really hurt because of these problems!!!
After go to the “P” Information Counter, of course the gate already closed and we could not be boarded at that time. The lady from “P” Information Counter contact the Jetstar representative by phone and said that the option that left for us just to buy new tickets at 2pm from Hong Kong to Singapore. Then I asked about our flights from Singapore to Jakarta. She said that it can be re-scheduled to into the next tomorrow morning because she said that we could not catched up our flights Singapore – Jakarta at 8pm and just few tickets that available. I still remember the options which Jetstar gave upon the the delay departure time that we still can catch up the Sin-CGK flight at 8pm. I asked the lady to let me spoke with the Jetstar team by phone, but she refused my request and just asked me about my decision. Then I said to her, “I just want to buy new tickets from Hong Kong to Singapore at 2 pm and I will try to catch up my next flight into Jakarta”. I paid the ticket and go check in at 1 pm. I asked the tickets for Sin-CGK also because when I board from CGK to Hong Kong, I got 2 pair of tickets together. The Check-in officer said that I only get 1 ticket from Hong Kong to Singapore and must check-in again for the Sin-CGK at the Changi Airport. Then I declined to use my baggage which already paid when I booked the flight because it think it will cause me troubles to catch up the next flights. I reduced my baggage to get fit into the cabin then I touch down into Singapore.
I landed on time (around 6pm) than I ran and directly went to the Transit Airport and showed my web-check in documents. But she said to go the check in counter outside the immigration to get real tickets because my booking code was not found in her computer. I went to the Immigration and Check In Staff. But the Check In Staff were confused because my seat already filled with other people and just chatted each other which took long time. I already explained the situation but they seem like do not care. Then it was closed by the bitch lady with long hair and dark skin who just came to the counter and said that, “Your check-in time is over, that is not our responsibility, we could not process it and since the boarding gate will closed soon, it is your problem not mine”. WTF, she just came and said like that!!!
Then I tried to contact the Jetstar Representative by phone in the Changi Airport. And the solution is I must bought new tickets! WTF Solution s that! I asked for the compensation but he just suggest to open customer complaint so I might get some or not. The worst condition that at that time, flight from Singapore to Jakarta from another flight companies were already full booked. I only found 2 seat (Sin-CGK) at 09:30 AM and the rest 3 others I bought Singapore – Semarang flight. Of course that cost me so much money since it was peak season (almost 3 times of the return CGK-HK flight cost). I ran out of cash, I asked debt to my friends to get me the tickets and we must spent the night in the Airport with exhausted condition and injured feet due to too much running!!! Also, I could not go to the office next day due to this problems. And there is no compensation from Jetstar??? Yes it is!!!
Just because that it was peak season, then Jetstar cancelled and sold our tickets to other customers for getting more benefit!!! Jetstar also do not give any compensation to us!!! What the fvcking crap aircraft!!! I will spread to the world about how bad is Jetstar/Valu Air until no one will use this aircraft anymore. If someone who read this or get similar problems with me, and you want to sue this company, I will become your witness too!!!
I want this company to be bankrupt for making my family and I suffered, becoming selfish and un-professional!!! I will not fly with this crap anymore!!!
