This pathetic excuse for an airline is just a money hungry organization with zero empathy for customers. I made a booking via online late last night and accidentally entered my name instead of my partner’s (whom will be travelling). I called the contact centre straight away - spoke to one person who then transferred me to a “flight specialist” after 20mins of waiting. She then took all of the correct details and advised me that there would be a $60 name change fee!
I explained that it was an innocent mistake made only moments ago and she replied “it doesn’t matter if it was 5 minutes ago or an hour ago, it’s $60 to change the booking”. The call centre agent repeated herself several times even when I asked to speak to a manger - “they will tell you the same time, you agreed to these policies when you purchased the ticket.”.
So unbelievably rude and unempathetic. I completely understand charging a fee to passengers making name changes to long exisiting bookings, but one that was clearly made in error minutes before was just ridiculous.
Our outbound flight is with Virgin Australia - who had absolutely no problem in amending the error straight away advising that it happens a lot and they have a 2hr grace period for unintentional errors.
I truly will never fly Jetstar again.
This airline is disgusting.
