First instance, I was boarding my flight in ADL to OOL when a ground staff in hurry suddenly said “Move, out my way” without any courtesy. I mean, we were not the last passengers so I don’t understand why that lady had to be so disrespectful when she just wanted to get the signs out and again, there are still a few people walking to the tarmac. I don’t think such impolite behaviour should be tolerated in a service-based industry.
Second instance was when we were boarding at the BNE airport to ADL. I was at the gate 20 mins before boarding but my husband was returning the rental car. He was held up in the security xray and I informed the staff that my husband will be there on time. However, they didn’t consider that, closed the gate and removed our luggage from the plane. If they had time to remove the luggage from the plane, surely, they had 5 mins to spare to let passengers in.
The guy who was at the door even blamed us for being late when I was there and politely requested to give us the remaining time because we still have it. He even said we caused the delay without any consideration. I was so upset I was crying in the gate but he just told my husband we caused it to ourselves.
My husband went to the service desk to claim our luggage and at least the lady said she is sorry there is nothing she can do and was only doing her job. How hard was it for the guy to give us some sort of consolation like this? Where are his manners? We weren’t begging him to let us in, we had to accept that we’ll book another flight but why does he have to be so harsh? We ended up paying $400 to get in a Virgin flight on the same night and at least we got the treatment we paid for.
I understand Jetstar is a budget airline but they should at least hire polite and courteous staff.
I am working hard and now this is a lesson for me not to save extra bucks if I will only get humiliated by incompetent and impolite staff. I’ll put my money to good use elsewhere.
