Jetstar JQ408 on 10/12/2019 at 11:35 am to Gold Coast from Sydney was delayed to 12:45 pm but given no notification as to why there was a delay. Waited until 12:45 pm and flight was delayed AGAIN until 1:30pm, then again to 2:25pm. At about 2pm the sign board showed "Gate Open" for the flight but no other announcements throughout this whole time nor any staff at the gate to talk to passengers regarding this flight.
At 2:30 pm, I spoke to a staff member at another gate and flight and they told me to check the live schedule boards for the update on the flight. I informed them that the sign board at the respective flight was changed to another flight completely and our flight to Gold Coast was non-existent. Then we got a text message saying the flight was cancelled and no announcements or anything at all to let us know other than just a text.
After going back to the check-in counters of Jetstar, hundreds of people lining up in both the check-in line and the for the service counter desk to talk about the flight issues. We were waiting in the long service desk line that hadn't moved for the last 20minutes when a member of the Jetstar team told us to move to the check-in queue to wait and talk to someone else. Waited in line for 40minutes while hearing other Gold Coast flights being checked in and getting on their flight ready to go which made us even more furious.
Other flights that were cancelled had announcements regarding which counter to go to and sort out the rescheduling but for this flight, NO ANNOUNCEMENTS whatsoever. NO assistance at all regarding our flight cancellation and we were thrown aside as if we did not matter at all.
