Update on Bali flights for Friday, 13 November 2015

(Published 2.30pm AEDT, 13-11-2015)

All Friday flights between Bali and Australia now cancelled

Our senior pilots and operational experts have reviewed a revised forecast today and unfortunately flying conditions around Bali have not improved.

As a result, we’ve cancelled all flights from Bali to Australia today, including planned recovery flights to Melbourne, Sydney, Darwin and Perth.

Please do not travel to the airport.

We will continue operating recovery flights when it’s safe to do so. We will let customers know as soon as they’re rebooked on these services to ensure they have enough time to make their way to the airport.

No action is required – we will automatically move you on to a new recovery flight once we resume operating services.

This evening we’ll provide an update on Saturday’s flying plans.

During improved conditions over the past two days we’ve been able to operate 14 recovery flights back from Bali, returning around 3,000 customers to Australia.

We appreciate cancellations are extremely frustrating for customers looking to get home, but the safety of our customers and crew remains our first priority.

The movement of the ash cloud is highly unpredictable and flights are subject to change based on assessment of safety to fly and local approvals from airport authorities.

Thank you again for your patience.
