Bali - Volcanic Ash Cloud Disruptions

Update on Bali flights scheduled for Saturday, 7 and Sunday, 8 November 2015
(Published 10.00pm AEDT, 07-11-2015)
Limited daylight flights from Bali to Australia on Sunday
Following assessment of the latest forecast from the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre, our senior pilots and expert operations team have determined that flying conditions around Denpasar Airport have improved and we can resume limited daytime flying to and from Bali tomorrow (Sunday).
We are planning to operate mainly flights that depart Bali during daylight hours. As a result, we have had to change the timing or cancel a number of scheduled flights tomorrow. See list of changes and cancellations below.
Operating a limited number of additional (recovery) flights is an option we have to get passengers moving again. As we have done previously, we will schedule recovery services when possible
Remember that the departure of any flight depends on favourable flying conditions continuing and that these conditions are subject to change based on the forecast position of the ash cloud, assessment of safety to fly, and local flight approvals.
Should conditions change we will provide further updates as soon as we can. These updates may be provided after we have received the latest daytime satellite imagery from around Bali tomorrow morning.
BEFORE TRAVELLING TO ANY AIRPORT
Check this Travel Alert and the flight status page on Jetstar.com for the latest update on flights. If you have been rebooked on a recovery flight from Bali you will have received an email and SMS from Jetstar with details.
All scheduled flights to and from Bali today which were cancelled last night, remain cancelled.
As we’ve seen during this week, the Mount Rinjani ash cloud’s movement is highly unpredictable. We’ll continue to closely monitor the situation with the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre and further cancellations may occur if conditions prevent safe operations. We will continue to inform customers when this happens.
As a Qantas Group airline, Jetstar operates according to a set of strict safety standards. We have always had a safety before schedule approach and will resume scheduled services when our senior pilots and meteorologists deem it safe to do so. What other airlines do is a matter for them. We take a conservative approach.
We would like to thank all our customers for their patience as we work through our recovery process to get them to them destination as soon as we can.
The latest flight details can be found on the flight status page on Jetstar.com.
