Appalling attitude of ground staff unacceptable

On Saturday the 28th September we were scheduled to depart on JQ37 direct to Dempesar. At about 11pm Saturday the 27th I received a text and email from Jetstar saying flight JQ37 was cancelled. I made alternative arrangements to fly to Melbourne around 10-m on the 28th then spent 10 hours in Melbourne waiting for a flight that evening to Dempesar. the ground crew were not very understanding or helpful and even told me I was lucky to get on another flight and that perhaps I should fly Tiger Air instead. Given we paid $1200pp it was hardly a cheap flight so uncalled for to be treated with such rudeness and disdain. The experience really was awful, why they couldn't just be nice about people's holiday is total rubbish. The experience was so bad even the ground crew apologising wasn't genuine and thanks for the offer of $15pp voucher but they can keep it - I will not ever fly Jetsar again - the service was just awful and given my first holiday with my 17 yo daughter left us very stressed before we even left the country. Coming back on the 7th October from Demepesar to Melbourne on JQ36 we had to go through customs, get our luggage etc then go to domestic to fly on JQ508 to Sydney which was delayed, gates changed etc.

So sad that my experience isn't the exception but rather the rule of how Jestar treats its passengers despite the fact that it's hardly that cheap, and frankly I would rather pay extra than ever deal with this again. I will say however the flight crew were much nicer and more professional than ground crew in Melbourne.

So don't fly Jestar unless it's the last resort, even then you should look at international carriers over them - it will cause you less grief in the long run.

At least you had better

At least you had better flight crew although I think that might been just a fluke. Next time you will get the standar crew. Obnoxious, rude and condescending like the rest of staff at this appalling organisation. Best thing is to avoid them at any cost.

I had five Jetstar flights

I had five Jetstar flights last week including to and from Japan, internal Japan and domestic flights. Professional staff, sparkling brand new planes, on time service WITHOUT exception. I suppose I've now flown roughly 50-60 Jetstar flights - all have been good. Lot of scare mongering - unproductive negativity on this site.

We need to support Australian businesses owned by Australians, with Australian pilots. Jetstar carries over 20 million passengers a year. Amir - from what I understand you were delayed from 3 hrs and then stuffed around. Is that a reason to to go on a one man vendetta? What's the alternative - taken over by Asian airlines with questionable safety records?

Jetstar is a low cost carrier. Before airlines like Jetstar were formed, airfares in Australia made it cost prohibitive for most people to fly. Now everyone can afford it.

Jetstar is not perfect - when things go wrong their customer care could obviously be a lot better. But how about we give productive positive solutions rather than negative 'appalling' ones calling constantly for their demise?

Jetstar is crap, Qantas have always played the 'We are Australian' card. They also consistently provide less of a service that the majority of Asian and Middle Eastern airlines. Jetstar is an even bigger step off the mark from these airlines.

I prefer to fly Emirates, Singapore, Etihad, Qatar over Qantas any day. In Australia I use Virgin.

Jetstar and Qantas are two useless organisations who try and milk the Aistralian public, now that most people see what they are like they cannot do anything about it.

We also were great supporters of Jetstar and would sing their praises ...until...We experienced our return flight from Denpasar in August 9 , 2014.
Jetstar is now the last resort.
