Cancelled flight

Last night, after dropping my daughter off at the airport for a 7.10 pm flight to Sydney , she rang me and told me that Jetstar had cancelled the flight, no prior notice, and the only alternative they could offer is 10am the next morning. As she had a doctors appointment in Sydney at 8am , this was not possible. Also , the Mantra hotel would not even listen to any extenuating circumstances, so not only is she out of pocket for the nights accommodation, but also the doctors consult fee. When contacted. Jetstar replied that she was " in the queue for a flight refund and gave her a 100.00 Jetstar voucher as compensation for all her other financial inconveniences.
Seriously?
We will keep fighting it, till the bitter end. But more people should know the sort of business practices that Jetstar employs, as i was shocked when searching the internet to some solutions to this problem, only to find out how widespread it is, and what a bad reputation they already have .
