Have you signed the petition against Jetstar's credit card surcharge rip-off yet?

Hi,

I hope you all don't mind me posting this here, but it would seem from reading this site, that there are lots of folks here with gripes about Jetstar, so this post seems fitting.

Early April I posted a petition on change.org protesting against Jetstar's extreme Credit Card Surcharge which averages at 20% to cover a cost that actually costs them less than 1%. You can read the details of the petition here. It now has over 42,000 signatures and is growing. Wow, what a rapid response.

I delivered 35,000 signatures to Jetstar HO in April in front of national media who covered the delivery on Ch7, Ch9, Ch10 and radio. Even ABC's The Checkout has episodes on this very issue.

Every Australian Credit Card holder should be worried, very worried, if this latest retail scourge of credit card surcharges is allowed to grab hold in Australia, and if Jetstar is allowed to get away with charging around 20% or more. What if all retailers followed their lead? And also called it a "booking an services fee" when it only applies when you use your credit card to pay!

If you have not already signed the petition, and shared it with your friends on Facebook asking them to do the same, I would be grateful if you could consider doing so.

Whilst I agree the credit

Whilst I agree the credit card surcharge Jetstar charges is yet another despicable example of how they treat their customers the way to avoid it is simply not to use Jetstar.

Do not book with them, do not purchase their product. Full stop.

I agree but the issue is

I agree but the issue is bigger than Jetatar alone. Too many retailers are starting to do this.
