Ideas on how to boycott Jetstar & spread the word... lets take these guys down!

So I have had many bad experiences, my final one: $198 to get 1x 13kg bag to NZ and back! and even when i didn't use it on the way back they were unwilling to refund what I paid for it

I suggest everyone on this site does a mass boycott & propaganda campaign!! its time for the customers to take action! with all the people using this site & the 1700 facebook fans, combined i'm sure we could do some serious damage to this sad excuse for an airline.

here's what I propose;
> make up little discrete stickers with just this website on it "dontflyjetstar.com" and plaster them in strategic locations; the airports, travel agents, sign boards etc.

> for anyone who can afford it, take out some ads for local signs, billboards etc again linking people to this website

> type up a generic complaint and mail it to their head office in Melbourne, address it to (CEO Bruce Buchannan; 473 Bourke St, Melbourne. Vic 3000) do this a lot! they cant ignore letters

> Graffiti their advertisements, just a little permanent marker "dontflyjetstar.com", in fact... lets just do that everywhere, maybe stickers and post it notes are the way to go here instead of graffiti.

> if anyone knows a good hacker, get them to direct all traffic from Jetstar's website to this one... just once, if they refresh or retry it should go through properly, don't want to inconvenience any customers further, but maybe this will stop them going back.

> imagine if 1700 people did just one of these things, the audience they would reach would be in the tens of thousands!!!

I really like your enthusiasm

I really like your enthusiasm Daniel.
Here are my thoughts on your ideas.

1. I have thought of getting stickers made up and distributing them but then thought of the time and money involved. This still may be on the cards though.

2. The cost of advertising is probably more than anyone visiting this site (me included) is prepared to cough up.

3. I am not a letter writer, but maybe others would join you in this.

4. I can not publicly condone illegal actions and would not get involved. I would be the first the police would look to. (Jetstar know who I am and know I run this site.)

5. Hacking...see #4

I have looked into the sticker thing....and may look into it again in the future.

Vista print does stickers for

Vista print does stickers for pennys really. So thats not as much of an issues, as with the letters, really its just a matter of having the same letter printed hundreds of times and mailed through, or even e-mailed (seeing as that is free) to overwhelm their system, try and set of alarm bells.

I agree advertising is very expensive however, surely there must be someone out there who owns some parts of these mediums who have been wronged by jetstar?

The cost of the stickers is

The cost of the stickers is not the issue, it's the distribution. Sending stickers by mail will likely cost more than the stickers themselves.

Guys, I always fly Jetstar

Guys,

I always fly Jetstar and like you all I had a really bad experience a couple of years ago on Christmas day which you can find the story on here about that, but lets be honest you boycott them and they close its just going to bump up flights on other airlines, less competition is less of a need to price match! Jetstar flying to Newcastle means I no longer have to pay $500 return to Melbourne which I can't afford to see my family, they may suck sometimes and tbh most of the problems are caused by rude staff but they won't close down and its a waste of peoples time thinking you can make them.
