Jetstar stole my money!!!! I have been battling with Jetstar for a month now trying to find out how the could take money out of my bank account without my authorisation consent or knowledge. I booked and paid for a ticket five months ago. The first booking said it didnt work and nothing was confirmed. After double checking with my bank that the funds hadnt been taken for the first booking I tried booking again.....this time success! I promptly received acknowledgement via email in the form of my itinerary. All good! One month ago and four months after I booked I was horrified to notice money had been stolen out of my bank. At first they denied it and then said they would investigate. They kept my money they had ILLEGALLY taken for a further two weeks. Last night....a month later, I finally received an email from Jetstar saying they did not Breach my Privacy by helping themselves to my money. They said it shouldn't of happened but it did. Yes they finally refunded the money they stole and proceeded to tell me out of 'goodwill' they would supply me with a voucher to be used on a flight. How can a company get away with using someone's bank details to access funds illegally? Please help me....oh and by the way the email came today....Subject....Jetstar Voucher.....it was blank with no attachment.....no voucher....what a rort....and surely this is fraud or at the very least a credit card scam????

File a complaint for credit
File a complaint for credit card fraud/ theft through ur bank. The credit act gives u a lot of protection. Email jetstar mentioning banking ombudsman and then put in a complaint ti the ombudsman. This airline is a disgrace to Australia!!
You really think an
You really think an Australian publicly listed company is wilfully stealing money out of bank accounts? They refunded your money.
It isn't theft or credit card
It isn't theft or credit card fraud, it's an accidental double charge which you failed to notice at first and which they apologised for and refunded to you well within the 15 business day waiting period they advise for customer complaints to be investigated and responded to (and if you read half the other complaints around here you'll realise that's pretty rare). It's an inconvenience for sure but it's not an invasion of your privacy as you provided those details to Jetstar for them to use.
For the love of god do not waste your time putting a complaint through your bank or going through the ombudsman as you will be laughed out of the office, especially since they refunded the money to you promptly and gave you a bonus fifty dollar voucher as well.
