First, They denied my boarding and made me purchase tickets for the next day. They said I was late. I was not late. When I called, the reps told me they shouldn't have denied my boarding and recommended that I submit a complaint thru their website. For over a month now, I'm getting no response. Every time I call they say it's with Customer Care department and they can't transfer me. I get an email saying now I should get a response within 5days, but again.. No response. I finally went to ACCC and reported jetstar. I fly all the time... Jetstar is by far the worst airline. It's not worth the 50bucks you might be saving.. Actually you dont even save in the end.. They will find every opporunity to rip you off (deny your boarding, sell blanket for 25bucks,...)

please take your complaint to
please take your complaint to office of fair trading. That is disgraceful and borders on fraudulent representation of a product. If they wanted to bump you they should have told you. But to just deny is ridiculous. I HAVE EVEN RESORTED TO FLYING VIRGIN NOW...NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD! If i have to choose between Jetstar and virgin it will never be jetstar. they have ruined too many holidays for me. And They are not cheap. My last flight to Bali for two was $900! They cancelled via text message 12 hours before for "operational reasons". I had to book on virgin and waited weeks for a refund from jetstar. Lying cheating fraudsters!!!
Geese, that is sooooo
Geese, that is sooooo bad!!!!!
I've just had a really bad experience too - they blamed for not knowing my flight was international (sydney to melbourne so domestic) and so wanted to charge extra for baggage (I only had one backpack that I planned to take on board), but as an international flight if I had more than 100ml of liquids, it had to go as baggage - then when I complained said my attitude was bad and bumped me off the flight.
Go to the small claims tribunal - easy to fill in the paperwork and make a claim - in Victoria we have VCAT - so as you are in Cairnes - its called QCAT - they tend to favour the little people. You don't need a lawyer (you can represent yourself).
Good luck! Sorry they f&*$d you over
I had a similar experience
I had a similar experience when flying home on a connecting flight from International...All booked as one ticket.
I was on a round the world ticket and had travelled for 7 weeks.
As it was through the USA we had 2 x 25 kgs each passenger.
The last leg home was from Honolulu to Melbourne and then to Perth.
Honolulu flight home was delayed 12 hours and then finally they put on a Qantas plane.
...had to overnight in melbourne. (missed a day back at work...lost pay.)
Next day on home flight to Perth the ground staff wanted to charge excess luggage... i had to argue that it was actually the final leg of an international flight.
Sooo annoying and should have been stated on the reissued ticket after the delay!
I flew a lot back in my student days before "budget" airlines existed.
Im so glad they didn't exist because with all the surprise charges, cancellations and delays I would never have been able to afford to pay up front for new tickets or changes, and then wait for refunds to come thru weeks later.
I would have had to spend a lot of time sleeping in airports if "Jester" was around then.
We need to close that airline down!!!
absolutely! I can't believe
absolutely!
I can't believe how they blame YOU the customer for something they created/did. If their agents get it wrong - they are responsible - not the customer!
Then when you get mad - bump you off the flight.........I could understand this if I swore or was offensive but I was just angry & keeping a lid on it. Manager didn't even bother speaking to me. He looked in his 20's - pity when you pay peanuts you get monkeys - monkeys with power, too.
Emma, your experience with
Emma,
your experience with Jetstar sounds much worse - never heard of any airline bump you off the plane for a "bad attitude" - this isn't a soccer match.
What was your outcome from VCAT/QCAT?
