I made a booking through their website just now. However, after paying the ticket through credit card, I just realized the passenger name is wrong. Unlike other standard online booking system, they didn't have confirmation screen at all! After filling the form, filling the credit card into and clicking purchase, you will just be redirected to the payment page. The only time you found any mistake is after you paid!
After I realize the information is wrong, I called the ticket center immediately and explained the situation to them. The time is so short that my booking hasn't gone to their system yet. The only way, they can find my booking is through my credit card number. However, they still charge 360 for my change, while the ticket itself is only 438. That's really really ridiculous! Then I prefer leave an empty seat in the plane!
For an airline without any customer service, better avoid. You don't know what will happen and who you can ask for help at that time. The last time I deal with Jetstar.
PS. Just while I was writing this article I got their flight itinerary email with booking ref #Y75RYF. The ticket forfeited already.

Hi Weng Fei, We realise that
Hi Weng Fei,
We realise that a lot of things can happen between the time you book your flights, and the day that you’re supposed to travel or you made a simple mistake when making your booking online. I know that it’s hard to accept the choice of paying additional amounts or losing the fares you’ve booked, especially if the changes are beyond your control. You may think it’s not fair to pay these fees, especially if you’ve been lucky enough to buy a special promotional fare and it’s going to cost a lot to change.
Jetstar Starter fares are our cheapest fare type, they don’t include a checked baggage allowance or additional extras. We do our best to make sure our customers understand they are purchasing our Starter fare, and we give you the opportunity to change to a different fare type to provide more flexibility or add baggage to your fare during the booking process. You have to acknowledge that you’ve read and accepted the fare rules before you can complete your booking.
Once a booking is finalised, if you need to make changes you’ll pay change fees plus any difference between the cost of the flight you booked, and the cost of the flight that you want to travel on. Starter fares don’t permit changes to the routing of the flight and are non-refundable. I have confirmed the amount you were quoted to make the requested change was a Change Fee only as there was no difference in Fare. As you were lucky enough to be able to secure a Sale fare the change fee does seem quite high as your fares where so low in price.
I apologise if our Starter fare rules made your journey difficult in any way. Still, I hope you’ll appreciate that we need to apply our fare rules consistently so we can continue to offer every day low fares to our customers.
Thanks Abbie
I have made booking on Jet
I have made booking on Jet star Website , 5 minutes later I received my conformation , I realize the departure date was wrong , so I went back to the site , and try to change the date from Tuesday to Monday the same price ticket the same departure time , the site immediately attempted to charge me $40.00 . So I made the call to service centre they told me: “ sorry you must pay , even if it 5 seconds has past , you liable for your mistake “ .
My opinion :
1. Company unfairly profiteering from customers mistakes ( after all we only human )
2. Company has to have grace period minimum 15minutes to 20 minutes , to allow 1 of change of details without imposing the charge.
3. I have lodge complain with Jetstar, now we will see what reply will be .
