Non-refundable policy is legitimised theft.

Please be very careful when booking/flying with Jetstar folks I have a story to share with you.

I paid for 3 flights for my wife and I to fly from Sydney to Darwin, Darwin and return to Sydney.

The dates of the flights are May 6th May 15th and May 24th, 2013

My wife has not been able to join me in Australia so I contacted Jetstar today April 16th, 2013 to advise them that I no longer will be needing those seats and for them to resell it to other customers thereby expecting a refund.

I was informed that the tickets are-non refundable and I blew a gasket to think that the planes will fly empty seats that could be resold but will not be. Reselling them at the last minute will represent a bonanza for Jetstar who will have my initial money and five months worth of interest and then another payment for the same seat.

BEWARE to ensure this does not happen to you. Total cost of tickets including insurance was well over $1000. What a travesty and I will never fly or recommend Jetstar to another living person ever.

Not only will I not fly with them but I intend to do all I can in shaming them through social media. The message above I posted on their Facebook website and they removed in within 30 minutes. Such care to pervert a representation of reality deserves more of my attention and speaks about their sensitivity to negative publicity.

In response to my facebook

In response to my facebook post above this was another account of dissatisfaction and non-compassionate corporate indifference.

Alf I paid for tickets with the insurance last July for flights in December for Maddy & myself to go to Townsville. Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in November and we decided that it was probably better that we should have Xmas here as this was probably going to be Dad's last Xmas. The crap that I went through was unbelievable, why do we pay the insurance, for the unexpected. At the end of the day, the insurance was a load of shit. Dad died four days after his diagnosis and we still went, but if he hadn't died even after paying insurance I probably would have lost all my money. They are arses, and how can they be non refundable when they encourage us to take out this insurance. A big take. Yes they do sell them again, it is a scam, they are getting paid twice. How does that work and why are they still getting away with it!!! At the end of the day the extra you pay for insurance means nothing, regardless of the situation, they are not going to refund your money. Total bullshit.

I have delayed claim baggage claims last february 15 , 2013 but until now i dont get clear response from jetstar..we had a horrible travel with Jetstar last December for our Christmas holiday, but it turns to be a most frustrating holiday ever, from re-book flight then cancelled flight, then transfer to another airline(Quantas) then another over baggage charge because Quantas did not honor our baggage allowance from Jetstar, but the horror did not stop in that scenario, when we reach Manila airport our 3 baggage was lost and got found only after 10 days and my brand new television LCD which will be a perfect gift for my mother was damaged. All of this inconvenience was reported but no clear compensation from Jetstar.
