RE: Booking M7ZJNF

Dear Jetstar Representative.

I am writing to formally register my disgust at the exorbitant fees associated with the potential change in booking I requested for my return flight from Melbourne to Singapore on the 15th to 29th of March 2014.

After purchasing the tickets, my pregnant sister found out that she will not be able to get a birth certificate for her newborn baby in under 4 weeks, which would be the required time frame to procure a passport for our flights. I thought it prudent to pass the ticket on to someone else. I full well expected a transfer fee in the range of $100 to $200. I rang your call centre to discuss changing the name on one of the tickets and to my surprise I was quoted over $2,800 simply to change the name on one of the tickets. This is an absolutely unjustifiable change for a seat that I had already purchased.

Not only were the change fees exorbitant, I was then told that should my sister not turn up to the flight that the seat I had already purchased would become void and would not be available to me to use for my own 1 ½ year old son, who would have sat on my lap, essentially meaning I would completely lose the ticket that I had purchased.

I cannot understand the justification for these charges.

What do you expect , I do

What do you expect , I do feel sorry for you but only because you have not taken notice of all the warnings from thousands of others. I booked a return trip from Darwin to Amsterdam then Munich back to Darwin on Singapore airlines , a five star airline and it cost $1900. AU.
If you book anything with CrapStar it will come back to haunt you sooner rather than later.
As for Amanda who works their Facebook site, she could not give a rats ass about your or anybody else's issues.
Happy flying hopefully with another airline or suffer again & again & again.

Hi Steve I've certainly

Hi Steve

I've certainly learned my lesson. I understand that they have terms and conditions but being told I couldn't block out the seat for my use if my sister didn't come really took the cake.

Don't understand - go to

Don't understand - go to their website - plenty of return legs on your date for $359. Looks like they have sold out of the 15th - but if you go on the 14th -$299, or the 16th $389.

You would be better off ditching the 15th - take one and book on either of the other dates - only going to cost you $299.

Your also better not telling them your sister is not turning up. It's likely her seat would be empty & your son could sit in it.

Bottom line once again -if you book non-refundable cheap seats, expect the worse if you want to change anything.
