Our beautiful family holiday has not begun but already Jetstar have consumed my time with 8 phonecalls and anxiety caused to my family. Due to technical reasons our flight our mid afternoon flight was cancelled and were to asked to accept a 6am flight. Whilst I am understand that some things are really outside of peoples control my numerous attempts to get them to change this to the 11.35am flight was met with no 'not our policy', 'that flight is now cancelled' and 'that flight is sold out'. According to website it was running and there were seats available! Basically being left in the lurch by them I had to accept the 6am. And now guess what ... they can't get the parents and kids on side by side seats ... we are all split up. I've been hung up on, apologised to numerous times, spoken to customer relations manager who assured me they would regularly contact me with updates, etc ..... We are considering cancelling, it is too fretful to think our kids will be on 3.5 hours sitting without us (the youngest is 6) This will mean the thousands of dollars we've put together for our lovely accommodation will be forfeited. I still can't figure why they can't move some of the seating around surely they are some people travelling alone. I don't know their system but surely that is not too illogical.
I'm on hold again now ... but I'm exhausted !!!!!!!!!

I suggest you turn up and
I suggest you turn up and take the flight. If you discreetly speak to passengers whilst you're boarding, surely someone will swap seats to help you. If you cancel you'll lose everything and Jetstar won't refund you. I suggest you arrive early at the airport so they don't bump you, and don't make a fuss about the seating or else they'll bump you- with such an overloaded flight and tickets still available on the website, I'm tipping they'd be looking to disqualify some passengers for any reason available.
Next time book another airline.
It's a pity that tax payers dollars went in to produce such a poor excuse for an airline.
In response to the "that
In response to the "that flight is cancelled", etc, my experience in Vietnam is that the flight never existed in the first place. I realise that Jetstar Pacific, which operates in Vietnam is a subsidiary of the main airline, they frequently push all passengers on the early evening flights (which cost a premium) to the late evening flights. They do it so routinuely that it suggests that they never had any intention of operating the earlier flights. Today, I recieved a text message saying that my fight tomorrow from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi (which was also at a premium time) is delayed 3 hours. Perhaps they are doing it to avoid expensive booking slots, or at worst they are doing it to con people into thinking they will actually be flying at a reasonable time...
Just ask the Flight Attendant
Just ask the Flight Attendant onboard.
They have nothing to do with the seating arrangements and when such a circumstance comes about, will do their best to help you once you are onboard. There is nearly always someone willing to swap places.
