I would like to know how Jetstar can justify constantly ripping customers off like they do? My family and I (5 adults) booked flights from launceston to Melbourne only to realize a week before we fly that the times we had book were wrong now we take full responsibly for this as it was our fault but when we called Jetstar to see of we could fix our flights we were told we would have to pay $800 extra on top of the $59 flights we had booked which actually after the tax and everything else Jetstar charge were NOT $59 as advertised now I can understand being charged a fee for fixing our problem but I think $800 extra is WAY too steep for an hour flight I find the whole thing to be appalling needless to say our holiday has been ruined having to fork out an extra $800 We should of listened to our friend when they warned us about Jetstar but thought we would give them the Benifit of the doubt but after all this we have learnt our lesson and will not be flying with Jetstar again

Disgusting. It's definately
Disgusting. It's definately done on purpose; and the scum-suckers do it everyday.
Lesson learnt. It's simply the worst airline in the world (and Ive flown on planes in central africa!). Never ever again.
I wouldnt give these rats the time of day let alone my money.
Oh god why are people so
Oh god why are people so dumb. Did it occur to you that $59 would have been sale tickets, and now the prices on the day you want are probably somewhere in the order of $200 (this would imply the flights are probably quite full). Did it occur to you that there are fare rules you agreed to which state that the difference in fare (probably something like $130-$150 per person) and a change fee (according to the website $40 online per person or $70 over phone).
Yes people make mistakes, but why should the airline be accountable for your error? Chances are if you'd realised YOUR mistake much sooner, the prices would have been MUCH lower.
Hate to break to this you, but every single airline in Australia and I dare say the world has similar policies that charge you a change fee plus difference in fare.
Hi Jenna, I’m sorry to hear
Hi Jenna,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re unhappy with the additional charges associated with correcting an error in your booking.
When you make a booking via our website, we show you the flight time and date on three separate pages – the “Select flights” page, the “Passengers” page, as well as the “Payments” page. Before you confirm your booking, we advise you to ensure that all details are correct and that you have included all extras you may need, as once you click the “Purchase” button, you agree to book the flights displayed at the amount shown.
Once your payment is accepted, the booking is confirmed and we email an itinerary to the address in the booking. It’s your responsibility to read your itinerary to make certain that all flight details are correct. We recommend that to minimise any fare difference, and to ensure you travel on the date you prefer, you read your itinerary as soon as you receive it and make any changes sooner rather than later.
I can see that you didn’t notice the error had occurred until a week prior to your trip. By this time, many of our cheaper fare tickets may have been purchased by other passengers, so this means the fare difference between the flight you booked and the flight you wanted to be on would have been more expensive.
I understand that everyone makes mistakes, and I know it seems unfair to pay additional amounts because of a simple error, but I hope you’ll appreciate that we need to apply our fare rules consistently to all our passengers to continue to offer every day low fares.
Thanks - Amanda
We accidentally booked the
We accidentally booked the wrong return date after Flight Center's site errored out .. Picked it up within 24hours (a month before we were going) and after waiting on the phone for more than 20 minutes they fixed it by pushing a couple of buttons (2 minutes tops)
Charged us $120 change fee and despite 2 requests to their customer feedback line all we got was a condescending letter back basically telling me i'm stupid and suck it up.. They have to be consistent with their policy... I will fly Virgin from now on :-(
