WHY WHY WHY

This happened to me on Friday morning I was at the airport 35 mins before the boarding time on my SMS ticket - sydney airport was a night mare I excused myself through the crowd some people were nice others not so accommodating
Get to gate 2 mins after my time on SMS to board and I'm refused entry to the flight

girl at desk said cant do it the plane is going
The plane then sits there for 15 more mins
staff member tells me you can run to qantas at t3 buy a new fare but we can't help you!!!!!

then when i said ( while tears are running down my face) I would like to speak to your manager )
She says Im trying to help you but now your going to throw it in my face ??

I have waited for passengers to board flights

I was in the terminal and NEVER heard my name being called

I would say she never read it out but I can say I NEVER HEARD IT

So devastated that I was not treated like everyone else

DEVASTATED and now will tell everyone DONT FLY JETSTAR ever the last time I flew with them was back in 2003 and that flight was also a disaster as we missed curfew at sydney waiting 3 hours for plane in avalon then they landed at newcastle ad BUSED us back to sydney Airport

lost over $200 in parking costs that night and a days wages as we finally got back to sydney at 5am the following morning
NO APOLOGY NO NOTHING

and now I choose them again as I thought it must be better

Well I was wrong

I have logged a formal complaint and I am still waiting for an acknowledgement !!!!!

and that's why you never fly

and that's why you never fly Jetstar..............they are the worst!

Jet Star is ripping customers

Jet Star is ripping customers off and has zero interest in return business. We were charged a massive fare difference for changing 1 passenger!
We booked two flights on the same booking two months ago Melbourne to Hobart return on a Starter fare to do a bushwalk. My 15 year old nephew hurt his back and needed to pull out. I wanted to replace him with my daughter. The Starter fare permits name changes “upon payment of the applicable Change Fee and Fare Difference within Change Deadline”. We were informed that the name change would require the issue of a new booking and that this would mean we would be charged a $70 name change fee, and a whopping $242 Fare Difference Fee for each flight, hence an additional $624 charge. There was no change in itinerary and no extra people on the flight just the replacement of one name with another. Steer well away from Jet Star – they hide massive fees well from view so that they can gauge as much money as possible out of the public.

Bek - you arrived late.

Bek - you arrived late. Getting to the airport 35 minutes early knowing that checkin closes at 30min before the flight, what did you expect?

Well Mr Peter Finch, as I

Well Mr Peter Finch, as I stated My flight information sent to me via SMS stated BOARDING was at 620 not the time the plane was leaving so I would have thought arriving at the gate at 622 to board would not be classed as LATE and not allowing me to board the flight. I apologise if my above statement was not clear BOARDING time compared to DEPARTURE time

And quite honestly my expectation was human compassion. Sadly being missed everywhere!!!!!

Aircraft often leave earlier

Aircraft often leave earlier than the scheduled time. That's why you cannot get to the gate late. If the pilot has been given a slot by the controllers they will have no hesitation in arming the doors.

They will not wait for late passengers. I know you were only a couple of minutes late - but the other 200 people on the flight got there on time. You can't expect 200 people to wait for one late passenger. A two minute delay equals 2 minutes of Jet fuel equals 2 minutes delay for 200 people. A 2 minute delay might mean the plane missing its slot and having to take off late.

All of a sudden you have 200 people complaining that the aircraft was late. All because of one passenger. I know it sounds harsh - but thats the way it is with every airline in every airport in the world. Got to get there on time!

Oh Peter I now understand you

Oh Peter I now understand you must have never flown Jetstar before as every flight I have ever been on has waited for passengers so please this is not a personal attack to you but my way of trying to understand why a plane stayed there for 15 minutes and I could not board ? why my boarding pass said 620 when clearly that was wrong cause you can not get 200 people on a plane in 2 minutes ! Jetstar were not helpful and did not have a explanation on why the boarding pass was incorrect.

It's extremely upsetting to

It's extremely upsetting to miss boarding, especially when it seems like the plane is just idling there with nothing going on, but don't think you weren't treated like everyone else in that situation - everyone else is subject to the exact same rules. It might seem like the plane is just sitting there for fifteen minutes but the crew have to work out how many people have boarded and set the plane up for flight and make sure the plane is properly balanced with the weight of the passengers, and many many other complicated things which have to be finalized as quickly as possible, and allowing a passenger onto the plane even two minutes after boarding has closed would cancel out all that work and delay the plane.

It's easy to say "well Jetstar are delayed all the time" but believe it or not they do like to avoid delays wherever possible for the convenience of the passengers and the crew.

Seriously I'm concerned with

Seriously I'm concerned with the responses can you READ I WAS AT THE GATE 1 minute after my boarding pass said to be there????
Your responses indicate it takes one minute to board 200 passengers
I DON'T THINK SO

I WAS TREATED BADLY AND PLEASE ONLY RESPOND IF YOU READ THE ENTIRE SITUATION

JETSTAR ARE HORRIBLE AND I WOULD LOVE A RESPONSE FROM THEM

NO RESPONSE TO MY WRITTEN COMPLAINT AND IT'S BEEN OVER THREE MONTHS

PLEASE PEOPLE "don't fly Jetstar"

Have you posted on their

Have you posted on their Facebook page at all? If you bring it to the attention of the social media team it'll speed the process up a bit, sometimes the submissions via the website itself can get lost in the ether.

Besides which your original post said you were there TWO minutes after, not one... you seem to be getting less and less late each time you tell the story. Also in your original post you claim you were in the terminal and didn't hear your name being called but the whole point of the story is that you arrived there two minutes or one minute or however long after boarding time, so how could you have already been waiting there to hear your name called? Did you see a queue of passengers being boarded when you got there or were they all on the plane already? There just seems to be a lot more to this story than meets the eye.

Anyway the point is to be there well before the time you're told to be there, not on the dot or shortly afterwards - I know that's easier said than done but still.
