Iam flying about twice a month for business an leisure and all my bad experiences are related to jetstar. The most recent has stopped me ever booking myself or work colleagues on jetstar ever again, and iam currently rebooking all 2013 flight plans for myself and all my companies bookings elsewhere.
Myself, staff and any key accounts under my control will avoid jetstar at all and any costs, and I hope you will to. This recent trip I had booked 4 months out for myself and partner as a business and leisure combined trip, jetstar flights, hire cars, accomodation and plans at the destination. Jetstar take your money first obviously , giving them the belief customer service standards or care matter after that, which they must drill into there staff ..... It's all about money in there pocket , but they forget why they were given it and treat people like crap.
Turned up at the airport an just over an hour early, walked in and of course jetstar is the only airline in there with people crowding around and pouring out of quew into the lounge. Massive lines to check I desks, started to get worried lining up. Final call over speaker for our flight check in already, no way to even push rudly into the front so go back and line up at the computer check in for about 10min. They had two monitors and another two with out of order written across them...
Waiting as next in line to use computer, they speaker call out check I closed , soon as its my turn it spits out error... See service desk.
Another huge line, line up in service desk for another ten minutes and get next in line, stressing at this stage. No staff in sight to talk to. Decided to take my chance and pushed into a check in counter next to the service desk instead.
What a mistake, worst attitude of an customer service person iv ever experienced.
Explain to the girl we are trying to get on this flight, it leaves in 45min. No , check I closed. U will need to pay 150 to transfer to another flight in 24hrs.
I have been here an followed their rules and procedures , but no , this one is closed earlier because it's leaving from international area. (which is same area in Darwin airport because of its small size)
We have been here trying to check in for 20 min, but no this girl is getting a thrill out of her power trip. She even has the slip of paper from the computer check in I hand her which has the time only a couple minutes after this early check I close. Even acknowledges this as proof we havnt checked in on time, um yes we relise that, we have been here trying to well before that.
Anyway, I won't go on how rude this lady was, I can't see how they are even employing these staff and who knows what they are training them. My partner has been in hospitality all her life and is now a trainer and also manages one of our accomodation businesses. She was apawled and flagged a massive lack of the basics of customer service, but not even just that , respect. This lady had none , just a stupid grin from the high she had for her power trip over the technical few minutes and the unsympathetic understanding it's her fault. She was the duty manger as well and had half the self serve machines down and crowds out the door.
I left my partner their and booked another flight to cairns on different carrier, oddly enough leaving at about the same time and it was no problem, purchase , check in, go to gate. What a joke. We lined uo and boarded same time the jetstar were boarding 100m across the hall.
My partner said the next person to the service desk next to her was another poor bloke with same issue, sorry flight closed now, "I've been here trying to check in" nup, please transfer to another flight and there is a fee...
This is almost so stupid it feels like it can't have happened... That's jetstar for you.
Worst airline in Australia , and probably the world really compared to every carrier I've flown.
I will avoid jetstar like the plague And pay everyone the highest rate, extra on accomodation just to make sure jetstar never get a cent of my money, my bussiness money and any one else hopefully that reads this.

Perhaps you should have read the flight itinerary which was emailed to you after booking which would have told you specifically you were departing from an international terminal and that check-in closed an hour prior to boarding.
