Overcharging for Baggage

Here's my story. I've read this page but I didn't know how bad JetStar is till I experience it myself. The flight from Singapore to Phuket was perfectly fine, no problem at all.

However, on our return trip on 16th May 2013, they almost overcharged us! We bought 20kg check in baggage, and their machine initially showed 23.4kg, after I shift my luggage a little, it read 23.1kg. Then, they moved my luggage further in, and it ended up as 25.3kg, and we were told we had to pay 600bhat per 1kg, which means they will be charging us 2400bhat for extra baggage. Jetstar failed to follow their own terms and conditions

The problem is that I had purchased these 2 tickets with the ‘Plus Bundle’ added to the standard fare. The ‘Plus Bundle’ was advertised for a ‘FREE CHANGE NAME/DATE’, and that was the reason why I had purchased it because I wanted flexibility. I realized I cannot travel on the 15th of March 2014 and saw a ticket on the 16th of March 2014, so I went ahead to buy it thinking I can change the name on the 15th of March 2014.

So, on the 16th of March at night, I called the call Centre in Manila to make changes because I would like to change the name. Mark picked up the phone, I explained...

First time booked jet star and never booking again...Jet star does not follow their own rules

My flight was suppose to be at 6:50 on may 12th 2013. I arrived at the check in counter at 5:52. It was writen everywhere that check in closes 40 minutes before flight time. The rude check in lady said that it was closed. When questioned why it was closed even though the rule is 40 minutes, she gave lame excuses like its an international flight. I mean really, have you heard of a domestic flight in singapore? from singapore to singapore. Hillarious.
Its pathetic. It's the first time I booked Jet star. never again.

7 hour delay

Was heading to auckland for the tool concert and booked a jet star flight due to leave at 12pm the concert started at 6.30pm we got on the plane at 7pm, once in auckland got speeding cab driver who got us to the gig right on time for the main event no thanks to jetstar. Allso wrote this. Time can not be erased and i will not be amazed , if im waiting here on this chair,while you sit there and do not care, you let me down and this is why your plane is one i will not fly, so take ur ineffectual work away cuz air nz now gets my pay

I too have been through the Jetstar bull#$^t process of trying to get decent service from them and once again they failed miserably.

No service, no compensation, no apology… just crap over and over from them.

Customer Service - No such Thing

We arrived at Ballina airport, with no staff at the Jetstar counter, and soon joined by another in the queue.
After waiting for a while, we decided to try the kiosk. Our wait had taken us inside the 30 minute arbitrary cut-off time. Proceeded through security to try and locate Jetstar staff. Made contact before the flight was even called, to be told the flight was closed and we would not be permitted to board. Result of my law suite against Jetstar

In February I described on this web site a long and arduous fight that I was having with Jetstar regarding rescheduling my flight. You can get the full details by looking up my entry on 09/02/2013 titled "Wish me luck". In brief back in September 2012 I purchased a return flight from Brisbane to Melbourne for 31 march 2013 (ie over 6 month later). Jetstar rescheduled my flight on 3 occasions totalling almost 3 hours. I wasn't given a choice and a refund was out of question. Their attitude was either accept the change or loose your money. Class Action Law Suit

I think the only possible way to get any attention from Jetstar is to start a class action against them to help get money back that they have stolen from people.
If you have documented evidence & would be interested in a class action against Jetstar please comment to give an idea of numbers to get started.
The larger the numbers the better it will be but once you go down this road it must be followed up.
I'm certain there will be thousands of customers that have been ripped off & want justice.

Wow, This Company are the pits of the earth. I cannot understand how they are not disbanded and fined beyond belief. Our story is awful. There are four of us, including a 13 year old girl.
On Friday 26th April we had a 9.45am flight from Phuket to Singapore cancelled at 9.40am, after we had all checked in.
At 10:30am No announcement has been made but a few of us are at the desk asking what is going on and we are told the flight is "indefinatly delayed"
Those of us at the desk were told there were four flights available.

Poor call centre officer and excessive charges

We booked 2 flight tickets initially via Zuji.com(SGD950). Subsequently decided to change our return flight. We called to request for change via the hotline. It was quite unpleasant to find out that there would be SGD120 for making the change. At the same time the officer also "threaten" that if we need to pay extra to ensure that we can have seat beside each other. We went through the mental torture to learn that every single things involve charges, eg, for paying the charges with our credit card also subject to additional SGD15 fee.

Been stuck in this tin can on the Tarmac for more than 1 hour.

It is now 12.10 am, we boarded this flight at 10.30. Just before we're about to take off they tell us their I'd a short delay. The plane door won't lock. So we're stuck on the plane till its fixed. They announce they are offering complimentary refreshments. All they give us is a glass of water, like what about some peanuts. Ah joy we just been informed were going to depart in the next hour.
Lets hope we do take off and the door stays shut during our flight.
LOL guests are suggesting they are tying it closed with an okky strap.

I hope you all don't mind me posting this here, but it would seem from reading this site, that there are lots of folks here with gripes about Jetstar, so this post seems fitting.

Early April I posted a petition on change.org protesting against Jetstar's extreme Credit Card Surcharge which averages at 20% to cover a cost that actually costs them less than 1%. You can read the details of the petition here. It now has over 42,000 signatures and is growing. Wow, what a rapid response.

Please be very careful when booking/flying with Jetstar folks I have a story to share with you.

I paid for 3 flights for my wife and I to fly from Sydney to Darwin, Darwin and return to Sydney.

The dates of the flights are May 6th May 15th and May 24th, 2013

Pay for Leg room and dont get it plus less

On a recent trip from Darwin to Singapore of which I had payed extra for extra legroom seats, we were refused these seats and given normal seating on the way to Singapore & had to argue with ground staff at the check in counter in Singapore for 30 minutes & customer service via phone after ground staff refused to do anything on the return leg of our journey. Cost of correcting booking error same price as new flights

A couple of days ago I booked a flight from Gold Coast to Melbourne for 25th April. The webpage was running slow & kept freezing up. FIFO-CHANGED FLIGHT SCHEDULE-UNACCEPTABLE

Let me paint the picture...
I am a Fly In Fly Out miner working in the Bowen Basin (Site is about 200 K out from Mackay). My usual routine is to fly into Mackay then bus out to the site, work 7 days then obviously do it all again in reverse. The bus trip from site takes about 2 1/2 hours dependant on roadworks/traffic etc.

Cancelled flight

My husband and I were booked on flight from DeNang to Hanoi Vietnam with Jetstar. I received email two days prior to flight stating it had been cancelled but rescheduled for following day. As we were actually at DeNang airport I went to Jetstar counter to ask for refund as the next day was not suitable as we had a tour booked in Hanoi accommodation paid for and did not want to miss day of tour and pay for more accommodation. JOKESTAR's Deceptive Add-Ons and Marketing. Jokestar dictionary: Passenger - "Self Loading Freight'

First, lets deal in facts. Jetstars own CEO discloses that the revenue from Add-Ons now exceeds its TOTAL PROFIT. Second, without the deceptive way of 'fitting up' customers by pre-selecting Add-On's for them, they would not earn enough revenue to continue in business. Third, deceptively charging passengers for these, plus the revenue from addional ticket sales through passengers making non-refundable errors in booking or arriving 1 minute late at check-in, Jetstar would not exist.
