Shitstar alternative

Hello just thought I would post something about Scootair I booked a flight from Singapore to Sydney for $200, I have read the reviews they are so so. But how cool is this after you book your ticket you have 12hrs grace so If you make a small error or a big error you can correct it. Just because your a budget airline doesn't mean you can't be customer friendly most of the complaints Shitstar have its from people making minor mistakes. Check out Scootair they are tied in with Tiger and Singapore they fly 777's and have some great fares. And just for the record I work for Sodexo remote mine...

No Compassion

I recently got an international call from my brother in Wollongong NSW. I was in Chon Buri Thailand assisting a friend who just had some surgeries.

My mother was in hospital dying, she had suspected pneumonia, renal failure and a host of other complications, was not eating and was expected to pass away. We had to ask Jetstar for an emergency compassionate flight home so I could be by her side.

Jetstar charged my brother $1277 for a "compassionate" flight home to Sydney so I could be with my dying mother and family.

Whilst checking in on a return flight to Melbourne Flight JQ439, 21st of July. I was shocked to find through no fault of my own that my return luggage was not included in my pre-paid flight,

2x frail 80 year olds trying to catch a flight to darwin connecting in melb with virgin could not supply wheel chair help to make connection after 2.5 hour delay that then turned into a 3 hour delay. missed the connection in melb will have to go back home, out of pocket $800 dollars.pensioners with no money. jetstar would give another flight melb to launceston next day would cost $1400 for new flight melb to darwin if you fly JETSTAR YOU ARE A F#%^&(*G IDIOT sleep well jetstar.

No refund of anything that you paid but you cannot fly.

I have booked ticket from jetstar + travel insurance but failed to fly due to some reason before that date. I called 1 month before my fly date to ask for refund but they wont entertain me. So I also ask for airport taxes and travel insurance but no refund too.

Just a cautious us words to anyone, do not buy their travel insurance that bundle with the ticket. You can buy it before you fly to avoid too much money being "EATEN" by Jetstar.

Credit card fee

$17 credit card fee on a $59 fare - outrageous. I tried to pay by bank transfer and guess what, my bank is not on the acceptable list of approved banks. I ended up booking the same flights through Webjet which cost almost as much but at least every 'extra' had to be ticked rather than unticked, a method that takes advantage of you making a mistake. $5.50 extra to book a standard seat (each way) and this is automatically done for you, it is not clear on the page how to cancel this either.

More than AUD $3500 worth of luggage lost

So my partner and I had purchased many pairs of shoes in Japan prior to flying from Taiwan to Bali via Singapore, which in total value is approximately AUD $2000 with proof of purchases, and have about AUD $3500 + worth of things in one suitcase, plus I spent a good amount of money to take excess baggage so I can take the shoes with me back to New Zealand ( which is where I live) after Bali. A Waking Nightmare

I was very excited to be flying to Christchurch to see my boyfriend after 1 month apart. My flight was to leave at 9pm on the Friday. It actually left at 1.30pm on the Saturday!!!! Last Minute

We were travelling back to Sydney from the Sunshine Coast with Jetstar and our flight gets cancelled. There was a later flight but they didn't have enough seats for all of us so some of us had to go to the Sunshine Coast airport where Jetstar had a bus waiting and drove us to Brisbane Airport and then we had to get on a late at night Virgin Australia flight. The staff were very helpful and we got to Sydney alright.

Jetstar knocks back 12 year old

2 years ago I booked my son with jetstar and soon realised jetstar doesn't carry unaccompanied minors.....no refund so i swore I'd never fly with them. Since then my son has flown 3 times a year with virgin or quantas. Today my sons father booked a flight for him with jetstar, jetstar states 12+ can travel unaccompanied but when I go to send him off I'm told he can't fly without proof he's in high school! Ripped off

Tried to book online...time elapsed..yeah right. tried again..didnt work. Phoned customer service. They claimed my booking dates were wrong and needed to charge me an extra $75...yeah right. I said I was reporting them to the ACCC. That got her attention said go to dropdown box onsite and change dates and will only cost $40. Iam flying about twice a month for business an leisure and all my bad experiences are related to jetstar. The most recent has stopped me ever booking myself or work colleagues on jetstar ever again, and iam currently rebooking all 2013 flight plans for myself and all my companies bookings elsewhere.

Missed Presenting at an International Conference

Thank you Jetstar Airways for moving my flight a day later, just before I am to attend an international conference. Now, unless I move the flight foward two days (meaning I will have to miss two days of work and pay for an extra two days hotel stay) I will miss my connecting flight (also Jetstar) as well as the first day of the conference (the day I am to do my presentation). Thanks again. No, really, it was my own fault for thinking that it was a good idea to fly with you, despite my better judgement. Moral: NEVER FLY JETSTAR.

This is my story thought I would support a local carrier well not any more there staff are taught to Liston there customers I want everyone to be made aware do not support this cramps airline you get what you pay and there motto being a budget everyday carrier is what they are

I was booked to fly home from Brisbane today Monday 10th June JQ563 at 10.40am and got a call on Saturday 8th June from jetstar saying the flight had be downgraded and cancelled and the only flight available would be a 8am or a 10.40pm flight

JetStar and what a lack of customer service can cost

I posted the full story about the experience I had with Jetstar earlier but have decided to remove it as I take things forward. Thank you to those who took the time to read it.

I find it very unfortunate that so many people can have such similar problems with one company. The worst part really seems to be the customer service over the actual faults themselves.

I really hope that someone from Jetstar can objectively read these complaints and make some positive changes to a company that many people would happily use were it not for so many people feeling like they were...

STUPID CREDIT CARD VERIFICATION RULE

Just a while ago, I received an email from Jetstar regarding credit card verification which requires the card owner to be physically present at the check in counter in order for the flight to be confirmed MNL-SNG-MNL. So I called their customer service hotline to verify this. All she said was it's their policy and it only applies to Singapore flights ONLY. And if the owner can't physically present the card at the counter, I should pay cash for the ticket price and they will refund the payment made from by the card holder after 15 days. $35 call centre booking fee? "Travel Charge"? What the?

My partner recently booked return flights with Jetstar.

She found out after the booking that a $35 "call centre booking fee" had been added TO EACH FLIGHT totalling $70.

On top of this, looking at the Itinerary she was charged a $67.58 "TravelCharge" fee. Despite my best efforts on Google and the Jetstar fees & charges page, I cannot work out what this is.

The call centre booking fee is absolutely outrageous and the lack of information on the "TravelCharge" fee is frustrating & unacceptable.

Had to pay twice, but no refund for the 1st payment

So i was trying to get from perth to gold coast on my way home to NZ. I paid by bank deposit for the perth to gold coast flight and then the same method for the gold coast to nz flight.
