Do people here actually have travel insurance??

Had a recent cancellation with Jetstar which caused a missed connection. Paid the out of pocket for a new flight and was refunded the ticket price from Jetstar. While inconvenient, travel insurance picked up the out of pocket expenses. Do most people here not bother with travel insurance?? It seems most of the issues relating to being left out of pocket by flight cancellations, lost baggage, delayed flights etc could be avoided with this cheap alternative.

jetstar baggage services is a joke and most of the people working there dont know anything about anything.

So......here is how the story of my lost galaxy tab begins.

I landed in malaysia and all was good until immediately after I stepped out of the airport I noticed my galaxy tab had gone missing. I was really anxious as I knew that they do back to back flights from singapore to kl and time was of the essence if I wanted to get my galaxy tab back again. So I immediately made my way yo jetstar counter services and asked them on whether they could go and check on the plane on whether my tab was still on the plane......which any normal airline could do. Just curiosity really, I would just like to know why jetstar is always so delayed, I have not yet to this day flown out from Avalon airport without an extensive delay my flight was supposed to leave at 10 pm and is now not leaving till midnight. Come on jetstar one half hour or one hour delay but 2 hours I would just like to arrive in Brisbane once at a reasonable time instead of 1 o'clock in the morning. To be given a reason for tHe delay would be good, I just find it interesting as to why this always happens lift your game and offer the service you say you provide to your customers...

dont ask help from their help desk in singapore

this company charge me 200sgd on their help desk center because of 5 mins late (that moment was 0850) of check in (last check in time is 0845)! at first, the staff in checkin counter said only addon 28sg dollars and have to handle in help desk counter , i go there and tell the counter girl to arrange my flight, she offer me 200sg dollars! Total 200sgd! This can buy 4 tickets from singapore to Malaysia on their web of the same flight! I knew that too late after she charged from my credit card!

holiday was great. flight to and from cairns full of problems

hi all,
just returned from holiday in cairns yesterday and thought i would share my wonderful experience travelling with CRAPSTAR.
i booked return flight sydney to cairns for 12 people(6 adults & 6 young kids). depart sydney sunday 8.45am. depart cairns saturday1.20pm. below is a list of problems i had.

1. 1 week out from departure, received email saying 1.20pm flight from cairns is cancelled due to operational requirements( means we're not making any or enough money so we'll cancel it). had no choice but to accept an earlier flight at 9.25am instead.

2 Hours Delay, 3 Gate Changes and Boarding Passes that don't work!!!!!

Booked 4 return tickets on Jetstar to Wellington. Checked in online and got to the airport extra early for our 1:35pm flight. Turns out that the flight was now delayed until 2:55pm. We waited for the time to go to the gate to come around and finally got the call to go to gate 21. Got through security and was waiting in the lounge for the boarding call to come when "Attention all passengers traveling on JQ265 to Wellington, boarding will now take place at gate 23." Jestar Stole My Money from my Bank Account

Jetstar stole my money!!!! I have been battling with Jetstar for a month now trying to find out how the could take money out of my bank account without my authorisation consent or knowledge. I booked and paid for a ticket five months ago. The first booking said it didnt work and nothing was confirmed. After double checking with my bank that the funds hadnt been taken for the first booking I tried booking again.....this time success! I promptly received acknowledgement via email in the form of my itinerary. All good! One month ago and four months after I booked I was horrified to notice...

Lost luggage

Had to make 5 phone calls to find out luggage was sent to Maroochydore and then back to Sydney. Staff at Hamilton Island did not log lost luggage on their system so no one followed up. Based on comments by staff seems to be a regular occurrence. I think the baggage service number is operated by an overseas call centre that has very limited information, although apparently they operate a world class tracking service. You get what you pay for - very poor service. Will never fly them again.

No refund and charged twice for same flight plus fees....

they are so lame. I would have been better off just not getting on my plane and buying a separate ticket for the next day on my own. Those guys took my original ticket i bought and applied that cost to a second ticket w/out giving me any type of refund for the original, and on top of that added a fee. I've never had a problem like this before out of the hundred or so flights i've booked. >___<

Jetstar re-schedule my flight for the second time but won't refund my airfares.

Two months after I purchased my ticket for a family holiday to Christchurch, Jetstar re-scheduled my flight for the first time. I was more than happy to accommodate Jetstar and accepted their new flight schedule. But apparently this is not the end of it. A month after that, another request to accept a change of flight. This time I was pretty upset and request for a refund my case ID. CAS-913051-G4XF1X. Jetstar came back to say that I have no right to a refund even though they are the ones who forced upon us to accept the new flight schedule not once but twice.

My partner and I are not large people but we still had to sit like sardines on our flight 11 hours to Hawaii forget using a lap top but you can use the jetstar ipad at cost of course .We had a cause to get our sick bags from the seat pockets as our plane was caught in turbulance arriving back in Sydney last Monday .There were no bags in anyone's seat pockets .The toilets were dirty and my partner was in a queue at the Sydney airport toilets when we finally arrived. How could Jet star hiring such a non professional employee. What is Jet star key services?
I had twice experiences with delayed flight, bad attitude. Both from the flight attendance crew staff and flight attendance manager.they talked to me rudely with an abrupt manner.

Small Suitcase & Duffle Bag

Hey guys,

This isn't a "complaint" per say, I'm just sick of going back and forth with Jetstar customer service, where they keep referring me to their website... which I've read about 5 times.

From your experience, how lenient are they with the definition of the "small item"? Its incredibly subjective.

I plan on doing a lot of travel over the next year, booked a few trips domestically and one to Japan with them. Is a suitcase (well within their size requirements) and a non-rigid duffle bag acceptable? Obviously the weight is the most important part.

90mins to check in

Spent 90mins lining up in the jetstar checkin queue. Me and my partner had arrived in Darwin from Adelaide with jetstar at 3.30pm. As we had already done web checkin for next leg to Bali with jetstar leaving at 7.30pm thought if we got back to airport by 5.30pm that would leave plenty of time. No more than two books allowed on board

I was told that a maximum of two story books could be carried on board for a toddler. The counter staff asked to see inside the handbag to check that there were no more than two books. Seriously, if this is company policy it should be changed. They also said that only 'a couple' of nappies could be carried on. The bag wth baby things for the flight weighed 3 kg (it was weighed by staff at check-in).

Beware, their policy is TOTALLY SCREWED UP AND INCONSISTENT. I have flown Jetstar 30 or so times internationally around South East Asia, and I've ended up having to purchase an entirely NEW ticket 3 times... before I said screw it, I'll never fly them again, regardless of how much I have to pay to circumnavigate them.

Flight delay and absolute morons with no sense of customer service.

Having attended a funeral of a family member in rural Victoria, my wife & I decided to 'cut short' our time with our family to ensure that we could make our return flight back to Sydney. We arrived at Tullamarine an hour & 20 mins before boarding time. Boarding time for flt JQ518 to Sydney was 1:05pm. We attended the Staff manned check-in desk and got our boarding passes. There was no mention of any delay - just to proceed to gate 26.

Jetstar's response to my request to explain why their airport scales are inaccurate

A while ago there was a complaint on this page from a Jetstar Passenger who claimed that her suitcase weight differently on 3 separate Jetstar airport scales at Phuket Airport. This doesn't come as a surprise as we are dealing with Jetstar here but obviously is of a major concern. Jetstar may be pocketing thousands of dollars from unsuspecting passengers for extra baggage due to faulty scales. Name change rip-off

Jet Star is ripping customers off and has zero interest in return business. We were charged a massive fare difference for changing 1 passenger!

For EVERY single flight I have EVER taken with Jetstar I have received the following email:

"Since you made your booking, we have changed our flight schedule. Please be advised that your flight details have changed. We understand it can be frustrating when plans change, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. While we try to avoid any changes to our timetable, in this instance it was unavoidable."

Incompetence made us miss our connecting flight

We booked in a fly a friend for free sale from Melbourne to Singapore and then from Singapore to Bali, both with jetstar as a connecting flight. We were delayed an hour due to an issue with cargo and were told after we had boarded so we were stuck on the plane for the hour. We then were told we were good to go, taxi'd out onto the runway ready to take off and then were told there was an issue with cabin air conditioning. We had to go back to standing position and it took another hour and 20 minutes for engineers to trouble shoot the problem. This caused my friend and I to miss our flight (...

Didn't know that in order to board the flight the credit card holder who book the flight must be there as the last time round I did it the same and my mother in law can go thru easily...my mother in law flight is today 16 oct 2013 620am...receive a call from my mother in law ard 5am about being reject...faster call Jetstar and ask for help...talked to them for around an hour...telling them I m in singapore and mother in law is in phipphiines...how m I going to be there to show my credit card...2 option

Flying to Taiwan for the first time was supposed to be fun.

About 36 hours to departure, I went to Jetstar's website to do a web check-in. The web check-in page read "Welcome to Jetstar's Web check-in service, designed to save you time." How ironic did it turn out to be?

"Sorry but the information you entered does not match any valid booking. Please check you have completed all the fields below correctly and try again," the error message read. I tried - to no avail - my surname, last name, middle name, even clicking on the direct web check-in link included in the itinerary...
