Jetstar Complaints

Jetstar crews are F$&@ terrorists

I travel weekly and as usual boarded Jetstar plane last night at 7:30pm, all of the good seats at the front were empty because they reserve them hoping people to extra for them. But when I asked whether I could sit in one of those, the answer of course was no, apparently if I did, the plane would crash! I then proceeded to my allocated seat. When I got there, my row was totally full, the row at the front was empty, surely I thought one row difference can't be life and death. Apparently it was. This male crew came over and started to lecture and be very aggressive towards me, he demanded...

5 times pushing off

forgot a painting in the plane in locker over the seat. The painting was rolled up in a tube.... thought that this should be easy to recover as jetstar personel would find it and bring to a place where I could pick it up. Made a complaint on the website and was notified that someone would contact me within 15 days (!!!?). Well, after a week I called Jetstar and was transferred to 3 different persons. Last person told me I would be contacted within 3 days. No contact ! after another week I called again and same thing happened. After another week I called again and same thing happened....

Jetstar glitch leaves passengers stranded at Uluru

Tickets booked and paid for and a five day break to start ... first time experience flying with Jetstar, and last. Following a 4.5 hour journey to catch our Jetstar flight we arrived at Uluru (Ayers Rock) to catch our flight with two hours to spare. On presenting ourselves to the Jetstar counter we were informed by their staff member that there was no record of our booking - despite showing them booking and payment we were advised that we need to go online and submit a customer service request or phone their 131538 # which was closely followed by the representative handing us a card...

Cancellation due to typhoon whilst other airlines flying 13/10/14

Our flight from Cairns to Tokyo Narita was cancelled due to weather (typhoon).
After brief check of JMA weather forecast & Narita homepage I was a little bit upset.
At the specific arrival time the weather should be fine. Friend of mine just arrived 1h earlier from Guam
in Narita. At that time it was just raining.

I guess cancellation was done because the flight wasn't fully booked. Luck for Jetstar. They don't have to pay a compensation due to bad weather....

Next time I will choose another more reliable airline. Good luck Jetstar. This is far away...

Does JQ30 ever take off on time?

Once again an email from "customer service " advising the bkk-mel flight will be delayed. Until 7.50 the next morning they say. Deja vu all over again. Last month this same flight eventually took off at 2.30 am the day after the same flight "delayed until 7.50" message received. After much confusion and lies on their part. Why is this airline so incompetent? I miss out on a day's work because they are incapable of running an airline. Compensation? $50! Woo hoo, I'll try not to spend it all at once! Just because you are competitive doesn't mean you have the right to ruin your customers'...

6 hr afternoon delay!!! And no warning

My trip to Melbourne a big sad frustrating, no service, didnt care staff attitiude, day. And then no refund no help with staying in Melbourne hotel and no one really cares except ME And my FAMILY!!!
Only option to have " free next day flight"" only hang on I already paid $395 return flights...
Jetstar start thinking customer service, instead of some heartless young women who kept stating policy like a broken recorder....
Never again!
This meant ringing Train connection changing evening train ticket in Melbourne.
Mobile charges enormous, then accomodation in...

Appalling attitude of ground staff unacceptable

On Saturday the 28th September we were scheduled to depart on JQ37 direct to Dempesar. At about 11pm Saturday the 27th I received a text and email from Jetstar saying flight JQ37 was cancelled. I made alternative arrangements to fly to Melbourne around 10-m on the 28th then spent 10 hours in Melbourne waiting for a flight that evening to Dempesar. the ground crew were not very understanding or helpful and even told me I was lucky to get on another flight and that perhaps I should fly Tiger Air instead. Given we paid $1200pp it was hardly a cheap flight so uncalled for to be treated with...

Seems like the same thing happens time and again

Had flights cancelled to and from Gold Coast - Narita. Our flight to Narita was cancelled 24 hrs before flying leaving us with nothing more than 4 hrs to pack and sort out business issues, then get to Akl for flight.. The staff at check-in were no more helpful than the staff at the call centre.. I was threatened with not being able to board, because I verbalised my frustrations to the staff at check-in after the seats I requested for our flight GC to Narita were not correct.. Not forgetting the fact I had to wait for 30 mins outbound to Narita and 45 Mins return from Narita for our pre...

Jetstar flight cancelled due to volcano whilst ALL other airlines fly as scheduled

My wife was scheduled to fly tonight from Narita to the Gold Coast. I just happened to check on the flight status around the time of her scheduled departure and was shocked to see it had been cancelled. I called Jetstar and was told that the flight had been cancelled due to the volcanic activity from Mt Ontake which had erupted on Saturday (Mt. Ontake is at least 300kms from Narita due west).
I wasn't convinced so I checked the Narita Airport flight status website and found that every other airline was flying as scheduled, even to destinations that are more directly in the path of...

not sure when they let us fly home

booked a couple of tickets to Singers for November. In the last 3 weeks Jetstar changed our return dates/time twice. Why? Once they offered return flight through Bali, second time a day later. What's the point of having a bookable flight schedule when they don't want you to fly. Won't book again. Since I mentioned to friends and family about flight changes everybody had a story to tell and nobody is flying with them again.

they keep changing my flights

have booked to fly in 17th march 2015 as it was a super sale bad mistake 3 times they have changed the flights the latest is we have been moved to the 18th day forward and added a stop over in bali yeah thanks that makes no sense what so ever called the phone line and was told that no the information on my computer is wrong they have moved us to fly on the 16th asked for itinerary to be emailed to me only to be told an email will take 15 minutes to go through from their server to mine could even be up to 24 hours then she asks me to check my email as she has sent it twice to me as of...

Their System Cock-Up but no Service

I was flying back from Christchurch to Wellington, used express check-in, it printed out my boarding pass fine with the correct date and time on it, which was Saturday. I got through security fine, and upon entering the gate to board the plan my boarding pass would not scan. The hostess took me aside and said the system was showing I was booked on tomorrows flight, not today's. I asked how could that be and showed her my boarding pass that clearly said Saturday. She told me to go down to their help desk and I would be able to get on the next flight to Wellington. Their help desk was closed...

Because of weather not because of us, why can we change a flight?

My flight from Bangkok to Fukuoka(Japan) was cancelled due to the weather. My friend and I tried to contact the Jetstar company in Thailand but they claim that they don't know anything. So I contacted customer service call center who didn't even know the flight was cancelled. She said if I want to go I have to go with another flight(2 days later) but it's too late, so we had to with another flight and another airline without any help from Jetstar. I tried to refund the ticket fees back but Call center just said I have to send enquiry and wait, so I believed her and wait for almost 2 weeks...

Drop the $75 fee per flight to change the person flying.

I fly on Jetstar. A LOT. And for most travellers in Australia, we fly Jetstar because of the great bang for the buck. But there is something so utterly backwards in their system that it just boggles my mind! Let me set the scene for you with these two facts...

Rumour-mill

While my complaint is quite minor (my morning flight from Sydney to Melbourne was cancelled on Monday 1st Sept 2014 but I rescheduled relatively easily and the new time worked in my favour, purely by chance), the taxi driver who took me to the airport told me that he'd heard a rumour that if Jetstar has a poorly booked flight, they'll cancel that one to make another flight full. Meaning that it costs them less to cancel a flight than it does to fly a half-full plane.

Anyone else heard this sort of thing?

Sold a flight that did not exist!

In May I purchased 'sale' airfares to take my wife on a long weekend to Adelaide. Booked the accommodation and car - all good. Until I received an email from Jetstar advising that the return flight had to change. Now - I fly a bit and I am use to minor changes, 30 minutes - even an hour - except the flight home was booked for 9:45pm on Sunday night so that we maximised our 3 day stay in Adelaide. Jetstar wanted me to take their 1:00pm flight instead - which basically meant I lost a day. I contacted their less-than-helpful 'customer service' and was advised that I could also take an earlier...

Jet star is the only airline i have seemed to have trouble with. I made my booking through a travel agent as there was a package deal at the time. However when i went to the jetstar website and tried to look at my booking through the manage by booking tab it would not allow me. When i contacted them a spokes person said rudely that they cannot and will not link it to my profile. I simply explained that we had booked it through an agent and qantas had no problem linking our other flight after it was booked. The spokes person said well next time log into your account when booking, which...

Florence angel Bezzene

I basically have had an extremely unpleasant experience dealing with JETSTAR in the last month...I had heard horror stories before though never thought there was much truth to them...how wrong was I...anyhow I bought some airline tickets with my husband on April 19th 2014 for travel this December 2014....unfortunately JETSTAR contacted us on July 31st and said they had a schedule change and offered a flight change or a full refund....since our flight change was unsuitable to our travel plans we called them on August 3rd and accepted there refund option....on August 15th my husband recieved...

we were due to fly to perth on 22/08/14 for a birthday however we received information my brother had died so we had to change our flight to 17/08/14.i spoke to a person in asia whom i had some problems understanding and managed to change our flight so as to attend the funeral,my understanding was i would be refunded my initial flight $530 and i was charged a further $698 for the second flight i had to provide proof that my brother had passed away which i did i received a phone call from asia again telling me i would only receive $150 refund which i refused to accept i contacted the...

We'll get back to you within 72 hours...wait 15 days...no wait...how about when we feel like it

We booked with Jetstar to fly out on 2 Nov 2014 from Gold Coast to Tokyo, this was one of those specials so we had to book, this was back in March 2014.

All was looking good, the four of us (2 adults to young children) were to sit together in the middle row on an Airbus A330, this is our usual arrangement as I would help my wife look after our 6 year old daughter so she can look after our 3 year old.

Until May, we received an email to notify us that our flight schedule has changed, and then another email in July to say it changed again.

Not only that the flight...

Delayed, hard luck

We just turned up at Wellington for our flight to Auckland to learn it will be delayed at least an hour, which doesn't give us enough time to get our onwards flight to Kerikeri. Change flight, no, refund, don't make me laugh, I bought insurance from JetStar but none of the staff could tell me what it covers and the help line isn't open at weekends, which doesn't bode well. We had to buy air NZ tickets, which I should have done in the first place but I wanted to save $200 but the new tickets cost nearly $700......
You get what you pay for.

Dead Star

Officious staff, power trips, and over the top handling of a simple carry on bag issue.

Then cost me $75 to Taxi the bag from airport after the bag was put on a later flight.

This is the same bag that I have carried on more than 50 times, including Death Star
When the complaint was addressed, it was settled to THEIR satisfaction and I got a $50 voucher.

I will be more likely to stick a chop stick in my eye than use the voucher or Death Star again
